Your Page, your call
Facebook data and deletion
What we keep from shed Facebook Pages, and how to have it removed.
🗑️
What we keep
When a shed listing links to a public Facebook Page, or the baker connects their Page, we keep:
- the Page’s name, ID and link
- its latest 10 public posts: the words, a link to the photo, the date, and a link back to the post on Facebook
- if the Page was connected: an access key from Facebook, stored encrypted, used only to read that Page’s posts
We don’t keep anything about the people who run the Page, or anyone who likes or comments on it.
How to have it removed
- Stop your posts appearing. Remove the Facebook link from your listing using Edit my shed. If you’re not the shed’s owner, ask us through the contact form below.
- If you connected your Page, take our access away. On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, choose Map My Cake - Page Feed and click Remove. On some accounts it’s under Apps and websites instead. This stops us reading your Page straight away.
- Ask us to delete what we’ve stored. Send us a message through the contact form with your shed’s name and your Facebook Page link, and say you’d like your Facebook data deleted. We’ll delete the Page’s details, its stored posts and any access key within 30 days, and email you to confirm.
What happens to your listing
Your shed stays on the map. It just won’t show Facebook posts any more. If you’d like the whole listing removed too, say so in your message.
